AG. COORDINATOR ICT UNIT

Idogwu Kingsley Uche

Idogwu, Kingsley Uche is a Nigerian with a flair for computing which he picked interest in from his early school days. He has gained experience working with NTA Head quarters Abuja (as an IT student) and MOCPED over the years.

Engr. Kingsley is a Nigerian with a flair for computing which he picked interest in from his early school days. He has gained experience working with NTA Head quarters Abuja (as an IT student) and MOCPED over the years.

He had his Primary Education at Bishop Okoye Memorial Nursery and Primary School, Abakpa Nike, Enugu. He attended Federal Government College, Kwali, Abuja for his Secondary Education. He went further to study at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, (ESUT) Enugu where he graduated with B.Eng in Computer Engineering. He proceeded to National Open University (NOUN) and bagged a Masters Degree in Information Technology.

Presently, he is the Ag. Coordinator, ICT Unit, of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED). He leads a team saddled with the task of managing students’ portal challenges, staff portal and results, and also ensure the College has a well-secured network.

Engr. Kingsley has served in various capacities since joining the College. Some of them include:

Secretary, MOCPED STAFF (CMS) LTD Electoral Committee.

Member, MOCPED SSUCOEN Zonal Delegate Conference, Media/Publicity Committee.

Facilitator, one-day training on Result Computation, organized by MOCPED ICT Team, held at MOCPED Auditorium.

Member, Exhibition/Fund-Raising/Ceremonial Sub-Committee, First National Conference, School of Sciences, MOCPED.                 

Secretary, Membership and Welfare Committee, Senior Staff Union in Colleges of Education, Nigeria (SSUCOEN) MOCPED Branch.      

Secretary, Journal Coordinators, National Journal of Sciences and Educational Studies (NJSES). August, 2015. Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), Noforija, Epe, Lagos State.                                                                                                                        

Staff Adviser, Nigerian Federation of Catholic Students (NFCS), MOCPED Chapter.

He has also severed as Technical Staff (2015-2017) and now Centre Administrator, Centre I (2018 – date) of the College’s JAMB CBT Centre.

His research interest in Virtual Classroom, Cloud Computing and using intelligent agents to optimize resource utilization in data Centers lead him to attend numerous local and International Conferences and Publication of some journals to his credit.

He is happily married and the marriage is blessed with a beautiful daughter.

      The College ICT Centre was set up to provide computing facilities and to support teaching, research, extension, consultancy and administrative activities for all Departments, Divisions and Units in the College.

      The College ICT Centre was set up to provide computing facilities and to support teaching, research, extension, consultancy and administrative activities for all Departments, Divisions and Units in the College.

       Vision

      The vision of ICT is to connect all infrastructure and day to day services to facilitate the teaching, learning, research and administrative functions of the College. The Centre is empowered to assist the College in elevating its position to a centre of academic excellence.

       Mission

      Our mission is to coordinate and facilitate the use of ICT tools to transform the College into an automated citadel of learning that supports research, teaching and learning.

       What We Do

      We develop relevant applications/solutions for the College. For example, The ICT Unit led by the Ag. Coordinator, Mr. Idogwu Kingsley and with the full support of the College Management successfully developed MOCPED E-CLASSROOM. The E-classroom has kept academic activities running since the beginning of Covid-19 pandemic.

      We conduct School CBT Exam for our students. This is fully managed by the ICT Unit with the support of the College Management.

      We manage the Staff and Students’ record/portal. This includes managing the students’ online results, online registration, E-payment, Courseware etc.

      We carry out research and development in ICT in collaboration with other Departments within and outside the College.

      We involve in regular training for both staff and students on the latest innovations in ICT. .

      We organize ICT Training/Orientation for students and staff in conjunction with recognized IT bodies.

      We provide periodic updates information that will promote the image of the College and to always update the College website.

      We provide Modern, World Class Audio Visual Laboratory for Seminar & Teleconference during College's Distinguished Lecture, Inaugural, Convocation, Matriculation, and Webinar.

      We  maintain the College’s server and Computer systems.

      We update computer utility software e.g. Antivirus, registry cleaner, etc

      We manage the College official email.

      We manage the networking of all the Computer Centers in the College.

      We manage to CBT Centres use for Jamb Exam.
